The Most Famous Player Character

Wow!
That is how you sum up stepping off your sofa and into the TV set.
What am I taking about. A group of great guys that opened their home and studio to me for a D&D game. Not only that, they turned it into a feature one off for the visit. I was so flattered that they brought along a guest DM as well to host. So much fun. So much to learn and so much happens behind the scenes I had no clue about.

Teens and Idea's

My teens convinced me that we should blog, video blog and become YouTube sensations. Well, I'm not entirely on board but one teen seems to thing we are like the Kardashians... Not even close. We're all male for starters and we don't have the wealth to flaunt... So we are making videos about poor white Canadian folks?

My teens tried to explain several ideas... needless to say I have them down to one idea and I built a logo for them to use as well. Not sure what they are going to come up with or how this will work but this is where we are at.

This Happened in Sci-fi

Enjoyed Calgary Phil Harmonic Orchestra at their year end performance. It was moving, educational and fun!

What I  really found amazing was the visual components added to the amazing musical accompaniment. I should add the photos accompanied the orchestra. Was surprised and sad to learn many people were retiring. people serving between 36 and 45 years are hanging up the tails and ties. I can't imagine having any career that lasts so long no matter how hard I try, yet these folks found away to do just that. Stay employed for many, many years. I'm sure they only earn honorariums for the amount of practice they put in, but I want to say thank you for your dedication and awesome last performance for us last night. I was moved by the talent and passion and commitment to the music and the arts.

Things I learned, A star flying through space leaving a debris trail much like a comet named Mira. Quasars and black holes have orbital junk rings too. Then the mother of mind blowing concepts, for get planet collisions, think bigger... Yes entire Galaxies colliding. It is a thing and it happens as captured by PHD Astronomer on hand to share with us!

 I really enjoyed putting a sample of what can be done and should be done to keep viewers aware of the events of a video cast. If you don't visit often enough you tend to forget who is who and what is what. This sample video was a quick demo of what they should consider doing to keep viewers engaged in the events and offer visual reference for the game they are playing.

I have to say they are doing so much right and I would love to see it pushed forward even more.

Adventureing News - Share!

I created Adventuring News as a pseudo media outlet to share fictional content on RPG worlds I play in. More importantly, the publication serves as a plot twist for those players and DM /GM looking to deviate from the regular game sessions they are playing in to explore more of the world around them with the added bits of information I provide in the publication. It is a ton of work to produce. The joy of sharing idea's is what drives this project. I'd love to create a book out of it too. If you have an idea for a character or world landscape or other thing to add, please let me know if you want to share. I'll see if I can produce a free version for you and your game group. Job Interviews

Strangely enough my last few interviews felt more like a dating, mating match then a search for any prospecting employer. Can we please have some men on these hiring boards? What happened to the guys looking to make a living? Are they all at home like I am. Why are men being forced out of the work force? Do I really have to sleep my way into a position of employment? The world is taking a strange turn. For the record - I have no money so that is why I'm looking for work. To the employers out there, Let us stick to the job. That is all I want. ~Enjoy!

Zombie Hat-Done!

It took 3 months to plan the sculpture and figure out how to attach it to the hat. Materials had to work and be pretty durable for display and wear. The final result, crazy hat day item created. Good for many occasions. Easter, All Hallows eve and even crazy hat day. I'm happy with the result. I know I can do so much more but it was suppose to be a fun thing, not overly scary. Suitable for many audiences and be allowed a work. A bleeding corpse head might be cool but pushing acceptable boundaries of work places. ~ Enjoy!

Thankful - Sort of.

Most of my life was not a choice. It was guided for sure, sometimes by force. Easter is one of those times where my faith reminds me that the life I have is largely held together by my life practice built around my faith. My faith is what has given me the life I have bound together in the most fragile way. Yet Roman Catholic is what I identify with most and adhere to with most of my conduct, most of the time. Easter is that time where I see being different makes me a threat, an icon and very different. Yet it is all I feel is true and that is enough to keep me balanced on my views of the truth. The real world is bound by deflecting litigation and transferring responsibility in any fashion. I tend to square off with it and take a joy ride until I get kicked off. I get kicked often "for my own good" as they say. Truth is, those that say it see me as the threat of moving in on their turf. If I gain to much traction then I take away all their credibility. credibility those others never really had as they build their life around lies and manipulation. Yet I continue on reminded that I too will rise again to yet another challenge. Thus is what is great about Easter. Even death can be over come if you work hard and aspire to greater things. Your not done until you say you're done. ~ Enjoy!

Employment - Ouch!

A retrospective.

In the last 10 years I have had 4 different jobs. in the last 20 years I've had 6 different jobs. My longest stretch was 7 years. Fortunately my frugal ways have left me in a position of okay financial holding. Yet I struggle to keep what I have earned. It's amazing to think that if your not of the crowd, you're the first one out. I'm not a coffee drinker, nor do I smoke, nor do I gather socially with co-workers often enough to care about their lives. So when layoff and cuts come by, I'm the first to go. I rarely greet managers as they are to busy to recognize my efforts. When I do, they look at me as if I should be working and they have no time for me. I don't do drugs so if your management team is on the take, getting a piece of the financial action from drug activities at work, I lose my job for calling the police. I often do that sort of thing. It is any wonder how you can build a healthy work place relationship with co-workers if everyone wants to wreck or corrupt you, blame you for things not of my doing. Not my gig.

People often ask me why I don't do (Insert action/activity or work Here). My reply is often the same - "If you want me to act like an adult, Employers need to pay me like one. I don't do what other people do because I don't have the tolerance to risk my financial well being on the nonsense everyone else partakes in. My view of the world is pretty lean, green and peaceful. I don't like all the regulation,rules,policies over the common person. I don't like the control all levels of government tries to place on me. So I don't participate in many of the things government tries to regulate. I do what I want, when I want and how I want. That is a prerogative of being an adult.

Truth be told, in the broadest sense of a statement I can offer; I don't want to be part of your world. You have to be part of mine. If you can't do that or be that, then I can't force you to. However, don't chastise me for my choice. A choice I make based on the limited opportunities employers and government force upon me. I survive as best I can with what I have. That is not much. If you know me, then you know that is true.

I would love to explore your world and learn more about it. Though you must know I'm very content with how I do things. If monetary rewards don't follow me than I can't be what you expect. I can only be me as I am, now and forever.

Man am i looking old. I've done so much and still have more to do. I wish I had more time and cash to do it all, but it has been fun. Me with my boys hanging is a rare treat. I wonder why more creative people don't unite behind a project or concept to create. I started this blog many years ago and noticed that it is an outlet. It allows me to write and practice writing and post art and photos and so many crazy idea's. But I still see very little in the way of creative people sharing posts or getting behind a project or supporting the projects that can be out there. I just think it has to do with control over a project. That is where some conflicts begin. It also has to do with return on effort. If I do something for you, what will you do for me? It is an attitude that stops things dead cold. I'm so disappointed by the lack of corporate support for everything in this world for arts as well. I can go on for paged about everything art and creative and related items. Instead I'll leave my thoughts as they are and close the door to my mind again. Maybe that is why creatives are so introverted. ~ Enjoy!

Things that don't stay dead

Gene manipulation is not new- Dr. Frankenstein did it first in a gross way using larger parts. It took us longer to get that skill down to a microscopic level. This is what I'm thinking. Ectoplasmic goo freshly squeezed from a Christmas ball from the mouth of a stone monkey and injected into undead created hounds made from various animal parts and there you have it. A magical undead pet that obeys and protects you alone. Loyal beyond death! ~ Enjoy!

I have an ear worm...

Well you know what I really mean. This is what I ended up with. Clearly the issue is unresolved. But at least I solved part of the problem. Now what is the name of that tune.

One of my goals...

I wanted to make a positive impact on the world...or my community at least. This year proves that my hunch was correct... This is why I will do what I must do this year. calgary-police-dealing-with-increase-in-food-theft I hope to see many things come out of my project. If my project fails, I want to be the one that can say, "At least I tried to be a positive factor, What did you do?" ~ Enjoy!
