Things are a little quite... Job hunting...

It should be no surprise that I'm Job hunting.
I really want a career - That just is not happening. So what is left???
Keep looking. I'm not sure what else I have to do. But I'll keep trying. Finding a place that understands work and life balance is the real challenge. Man oh man, then I hear that Canadians have the worst paid and unpaid vacations in the world... No wonder life is so challenging. Due to inflexible employers we also have the worst productivity. Maybe we need to charge more for our time as individuals.

Castle in the Rockies....Banff

5 star wonder!
We try to get out to the mountains at least once per year. This time we made our way out to the Castle...Now it is a hotel...Banff Springs Hotel. An amazing wonder in scale in the most beautiful place in all of Canada. You might not be able to visit here so let me tease you with a little photo or two from our experience.

These just give you a little idea of the scale. Fortunately the ball room is just one of the few in the facility... you would love the bathrooms too! Very
impressive, but they still smell like any bathroom would.

24 hours...art quit....

After struggling with visuals color and theme and feel I threw in the towel on this posted art piece.
I love how the far background was going with abstract digital painting of the forest implied trees and leaves. unfortunately that is where the art love ended with me. I struggled with the theme, character and overall concept...you can see I tried textures, and various styles to see if I could bring the whole piece together...I failed very badly.... But the struggle of my
creative self and intellectual self clearly needs to be documented for its simple merit....Failure...despite persistence....I think I learned a lesson... it was time to move on from this.... I developed a hate for this... I hope to never see this ..... art....again

5 star treatment....

This is the in-side of a 5 start hotel in the LA - Anaheim area... I know the locals think I'm must be crazy for not being more accurate. Still, this place was quite the experience for a Canadian boy like me. Surprisingly, their steaks are no where close to being as good as the Alberta Beef... Sorry USA, 5 star or not, you have a long way to go to match a Canadian triple A meat slab.

This site was beautiful and it is not surprising that the pools were closed off for some photo shoot or celebrity need.

Amazing the memories that come flooding back when you stumble over old experiences. At least I can say, I lived the big life for at least one week in my life. People close to me know how much of a joke that is.

Decided to take a few pics of stuff.... I'm not sure if the internet has seen these yet.

obession fun....

Needed to see if I could created a few replica cards to a high standard. Everything looks really good. Color printer is a bit dirty so the prints are darker then expected but that is an easy repair with a a single correction.

The design is based on a popular card game - All illustrations are original works of my own design and imagination. 50% of the copy is of my own creation while the rest is modified and based upon the popular card game system.

My children are pretty jazzed by the final result.
This project has inspired another project all together different yet similar to what I might be doing a bit later in the year.

The tiny logo was fun to create too. You can't really tell what it is in the photo. You can be sure to see more of it in the future though.

Self testing is important...

I'm always looking to improve on various abilities that might one day be important
. That means trying to be faster, strong, smarter and just as well rounded as I can be at any time in my life to see what emerges from my skill set. Here is one result of a self test. I'm not sure how accurate web products are when it comes to self testing but I think this is pretty close to what I can normally do. Well it is a bit slower, but that might be due to band with issues.

2 hours at church 600 people +25 C.....

To day has been long and grueling.... But I'm sure we are spiritually renewed.... But I don't really feel that way. To many people in one room and that kind of heat makes you just plain tired. Met some old acquaintances though....

Makes you want to rest on Sunday if your doing church on Saturday.... No wonder I don't go to the parish every week. It is so time consuming. Now I have to catchup on everything that did not get done during the day.

Well Big guy, you heard my prayers. I now await your response!

Tongue in Cheek...

Tongue in cheek... indeed. I'm writing a short workplace survival manual that might just be a great hit. The ironic part is that I can't even find a job or career as the case may be to test my thesis. That is where the tongue in cheek... comes in.

It might resonate with a lot of people who are unemployed and offer a few insights as to what works and what doesn't and why that might be the case. I can tell you it is better to be in the in, then not ... I'll keep you posted as the work comes together. You might just want a copy of the book/manual for yourself.
